UNDERNEATH THE CASTLE

Location

Our establishment lies in a prominent position surrounded by vineyards right under the romantic castle ruins of the castle Windeck in the district of Kappelwindeck. Home of the “Bühler early Plum”. This fruit started out from here into the world, in the second half of the last century.

The times when the fruit pickers would carry their baskets on their heads down to the market in Bühl have passed. But this delicious fruit has stayed and is found, as a favourite in, either fresh on cakes, as marmalade or destilled as plum water.

Our establishment is conveniently located. Inspite the peaceful location it can be accessed pretty easily, through various routes.

As the youngest sprout of the familie, Peter Leppert took over the family business in 1993. Before doing so, he became a trained cook and hotel business economist. He worked as a Chef de partie in Lausanne (Switzerland) and as a Chef poissonnier at the hotel Waldhorn in Ravensburg.

The practice-oriented training of young people is very important to the father of six children. He is a member of the examination board of the IHK Karslruhe for cooks and kitchen chefs. He is a lecturer at the European hotel management school as well. The Hotel Jägersteig trains young people in the professions of Cooks and Restaurant Specialists and provides training places for them.
